The 1955 Johnny Podres Bowman card #97—the whole set that year was framed by a wood-grain color TV, I still can't get over that—and Johnny's picture looks like it was taken at 4 a.m. under glaring moonlight in front of a bar he'd just stumbled out of after some woman had smeared lipstick and rouge all over his face while his head lay snoozing across his folded arms. He looks drop-dead pretty, I love that card. |
